Home to the black great wyrm, Gishkelfath. This female black dragon has made her home on this large rock and is served by a covey of sea hags that server her. As the dragon continues to age she is growing more and more senile. She still mates from time to time and produces a large clutch of eggs every few years, but she intermittently kills her mate after the act for an easy meal. Due to her insanity she hasn’t noticed the sea hags have taken one of her eggs for them to rear and train. Marble Cliff is well known to the the home of Gish and her minions which noone desires to disturb or bother.

Rumor/note: Old texts noted the location of an old temple dedicated to Squiffy (god of seas/oceans) that has been long abandoned. It is said the temple contained many great books on researching arcane spells dedicated to ice, water, and waeather, as well as items to affect such spells

Adamastor: This is the only real port city on the Dwarfgate Isles. The waters surrounding here are too shallow to take any large ships, but small ships can dock, or transport goods to larger ships outside the port. Most of the traffic here is from local fishing and transport boats. Many locals earn their living through fishing or pearl diving.

Asraiwood: This forest is a bit dreary and contains the spirits of elves killed fleeing Ellacena. Several powerful elvish spirits have become banshees and haunt the woods. Issues are rare though as long as you stick to the road.

Rumors/ideas: A recent pirate incursion has given a group of sailors a home on the southern shore under Asraiwood. The pirates have managed to clear some of the forest without attracting any spirits and now have a secure base of operation to act from.

Kromeydome mines: This mining village (population 600) rests near a few mines of Kromite which is a crystal with many common magical uses. Recently the lower mines have began experiencing accidents and odd occurences. This has been scaring the workers, making it harder to get and store the minerals. These disturbances have had a hard effect on the town considering the crystals are the people’s only export, used to trade for resources the local land can’t provide.

Darilth (population 4200, 60% human, 15% dwarf, 5% elf)
This town is located in what is just about the only flat land on Reneia. The rest being rolling high and steep hills from shore to shore. Darilth is a trading city, containing many crafters and stores that provide resources to take the long trek to the north.

Galgottan: What was once a thriving Sahuagin city off of the west coast, is now a poisonous underwater no man’s sea. Underwater volcanic activity release mass amounts of toxins and heat. Those within the close radius were boiled alive very quickly, most others in the outer city died in their sleep due to toxins in the water. Only the truly the brave and or stupid venture into these waters. In a grand rage, the Sahuagin goddess Namooki use a portion of her divine spark to trap the souls of her beloved Sahuagin in their bodies so that they may have time to bring vengeance upon the most beloved creatures of the Earthen god she blamed for the loss… the dwarves. The spark given to the undead creatures has given them the power to poison and strike pain with merely a touch. Few to none who traverse these waters now survive as they plan their siege of the Dwarfgate Isles.

Dragon’s Rest: This is the final resting place of a colossal brass dragon. It is rumored that noone has ever found the dragon’s hoard, but this skeleton is older than anyone remembers.

Falkor’s Forest: This forest is home to a half celestial pseudo-dragon who cares for this area. Falkor is actually very old and is now huge sized which is quite impressive for a speudo-dragon. He is glad to provide assistance to goodly people, but occasionally he likes to make them work for it, or have a little entertainment with some practical jokes before he shows himself.

Abraxas: population 400 (80% gnomes, other is a mix of humans, dwarves, and others.)
A fair sized community of gnomes along with a few others live in this village of miners and smiths. Most residents are very eccentric, living with gnomes does that to does that to most eventually. Although quirky they occasionally have a great idea although usually they are overly dangerous. The town has 6 iron golems and 1 adamantite golem that are controlled by the militia/guards for defense. Due to the small size of the community most of the residents are trained in the militia at some point, excelling in the use of repeating crossbows and auto-picks ( A spring loaded pick, about as useful as a normal one but more fun)

Aetrite’s Forest: This forest is known for it’s giant eagles. A few of these eagles have been tamed by the small elven village of Eissena. Local lore speaks of stones in the eagle nests that contain magical properties. (healing stones: heals the possessor of this stone 1 hp per day and provides a +1 (luck bonus) save vs any disease or poison

Ruins of Ellacena: These are ancient 400+year old ruins of an elven city. Very few non elves know/remember what happened to this city and mostly Eissenars are the ones who remember the truth. While many believe now that the city fell to accidental magic, in truth it fell due to a faction of elves from a lower family (the Cruens). The Cruens were young, ambitious and thought far too highly of themselves. In an attempt to force power into their hands, they attempted to open a gate to the lower planes of demons. In their success they were able to open the gate but had nowhere near the power needed to control the beasts that began to force their way through. The elves were able to close the gate, but the city was lost. Demonic creatures are intermittently seen in and around the area to this day.

Eissena: This is a small elven treetop village. The residents represent the survivors and children from Ellacena. Many of the residents are eagle riders. These rangers raise the giant eagles as mounts and utilize them to keep things contained around Ellacena, attacking from the sky makes things somewhat safer, but not every beast can’t fly.

Dwarfgate Isle

The Dwarfgate bridges: These monstrous bridges were constructed by the dwarfs (and a few gnomes they don’t like to remember) to have a much easier way to reach and trade with the continent of Anaskel. It took the dwarves just shy of a century before they completed it. These bridges have been standing for over 3000 years and show no signs of age. It is believed that the bridges themselves hold the islands of Dwarfgate in place. These are arcing bridge with bracers underneath that span the crossing of each isle. They are roughly 30 feet wide and are made of stone and mortar. The edges of bridge are raised by 2-3 feet on each side and have water runoff’s. The bridge radiates magic of all types faintly. There are concerns that the original clan that built the bridge is dieing off, if this were to happen some speculate that the bridge itself is tied to the bloodline of the dwarf clan who created it. If one should fall, so would the other. There are many that would want to see this bridge last, and others who would see it fall.

Ironstone

This is the underground and above ground citadel of the last of the Ironstone Clan. Their numbers have slowly decreased over time to the now paltry 381 members. They allow very few into their city as they are very reclusive/xenophobic (caused by 3 millenia of assaults on their people trying to control the bridges). They are the last surviving line of the dwarves who built Dwarfgate. They are more than aware of the legend that says when the last ironstone falls so will the Dwarfgate bridges. The Ironstone clan is very proud and will not freely take help from others, nor will they usually care for issues outside of their gates. In order for the clan to live on, they will need new blood as there won’t be too many more generations at this point.

Treeshatter Spire
Named after the effect this monument had on the terrain, this giant rock spire shot up from the ground one night, displacing what was above it: a few large now splintered trees, of which one still dangles from the top of the spire. The cause of this event is unknown and the local dwarfs have no interest in investigating.

Stranglekelp Bay
A large span of the western bay is filled with stranglekelp, which is why this area is so aptly named. Many have lost their lives after stopping for a quick swim before or after crossing the bridge. The bay spans the distance between Dwarfgate island and Starshore. Stranglekelp is a non-sentient underwater plant that sticks and wraps around objects that interact with it. They survive off of living prey mostly and some earthen nutrients.

Rumors: The dwarves hadn’t just made the bridges for trade, but as an actual seal over a rift/hole that was forming between worlds. If it is a seal, what is it holding back or protecting, and what happens when the ironstone clan falls.

Chitomo

This port city rests on “Sea Turtle Bay”. The region is known for harsh storms and great fishing. The residents of Chitomo worship an old lesser Sea Goddess by the name of Emisima. There is a large temple dedicated to her along with a full clergy of priests and clerics. In recent times the clerics have become very recluse. Certain individuals believe they are having trouble or completely unable to reach their goddess. This religion is one of the primary sources of power in the city. If they are found to be weakened, others may try to usurp them such as one of the guilds (merchant’s, thieves, etc) or another faith may attempt to take their place. There may be business for either side here for either protection, or information gathering.

From the southern edge of the sea of dragons to the ocean of Isix, stretches the land of Estermount. It’s western neighbor is Fayedge and it’s Eastern is Merciba.

Saldain

The Northwest region of Estermount is a rather ragged area consisting of low mountains, a few plateaus, and grazing fields. The city of Saldain rests on top of one such plateau, surrounded by small areas for grazing but not capable of real cultivation. Saldain is mostly populated by minotaurs as well as a few more civilized ogres and more open humanoids willing to put up with the gruff nature of this town for the business trade. The minotaurs here offer many services including mercenary work and tool crafting as well as raw metals from the local mines. The minotaurs here have laid claim to much of Northwestern Estermount and few would dare oppose. Although there are a few tribes of ogres and goblinoids that cause Saldain much annoyance.
